Oily Skin

People who suffer from oily skin often think they shouldn’t exfoliate or moisturise because it’ll irritate their skin and make it more oily. Wrong. Although oily skin is caused by the overproduction of sebum (the skin’s natural oils, produced to keep skin supple and healthy), regular exfoliation and moisturising will help balance sebum levels.

Regular exfoliation with a gentle product is essential for oily skin to get rid of excess dead skin on the face which can block pores and cause spots and blackheads. Gentle exfoliation also helps to get rid of excess sebum on the face, leaving the face less greasy and shiny.  Use a gentle facial exfoliator once a week.

Oily skins also need moisturiser to help rehydrate the skin and protect it from the elements. Choose a water based non-comedogenic moisturiser that won’t clog your pores and use every day after cleansing to keep your skin healthy and smooth.
